Delete my data
One message and it is gone. This page exists on its own URL so that it works whether or not you have an account with anyone, including us.
The short version
Ask, and we delete it. Email info@dotreceive.co.za or WhatsApp 079 677 3392 with the words “delete my data”.
No form, no fee, no account required, and no attempt to talk you out of it. We confirm within a few days and finish within 30, which in practice means the same week.
What to send us
Just enough for us to find you. One of these is plenty:
- The phone number or email address you contacted us from
- Your business name
- Your Facebook name, if this is about our Facebook Page
You do not have to say why. If you would like us to delete only part of it — say, the stock-check result but not the invoice we are obliged to keep — tell us and we will do exactly that.
What we will delete
| What | Deleted on request? |
|---|---|
| Your messages to us, on WhatsApp or by email | Yes |
| A stock-check result you sent us | Yes |
| Your entry on our prospect list, and the note of where the number came from | Yes, and permanently |
| Any backup file you sent us for support | Yes — and we delete these anyway once the problem is solved |
| Anything we hold because you interacted with our Facebook Page | Yes |
| Invoices and tax records, if you have been a paying client | No — tax law requires these to be kept. We will tell you exactly what is being kept and for how long, and delete everything around them. |
The one thing we will ask you about first
If you previously told us to stop contacting you, you are on our do-not-contact list, and that list is the mechanism that honours your request. Deleting your entry would mean we no longer remember you asked — and one day a fresh list could put you back in front of us.
So if you ask for a total erasure, we will do it, but we will point this out once and let you choose. Most people would rather stay on it. Either way, it is your call, not ours.
Facebook and this website
Two things worth knowing, because they change what we are able to do:
Our Facebook application collects nothing about you. It exists only to publish Dot's own posts to Dot's own Page. It does not read profiles, followers, comments or messages, and it stores no user data at all. So if your request is about that application specifically, the honest answer is that there is nothing of yours in it to delete — but we will say so in writing, and we will still delete anything else we hold about you.
Data held by Meta is not ours to delete. Comments on our Page, your Facebook profile, and WhatsApp's own copy of your messages sit with Meta under its terms. We can delete our side of a conversation; we cannot reach into theirs. To remove things on that side you would use Facebook's own settings. We will tell you which is which rather than pretending to a power we do not have.
This website holds nothing to delete. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and stores nothing in your browser, so there is no profile of you here in the first place. See the privacy page for how we verified that.
If we get it wrong
You may complain to the Information Regulator, and you do not need our permission or our involvement to do it:

We would rather you told us first — it is one person and it is usually fixable in an afternoon — but that is a preference, not a condition.
