How buying works
There is no checkout on this page and no card form. Every purchase goes through a short conversation with a person — because a five-minute exchange stops far more wrong purchases than any returns policy does.
- Tell us who you are. Message us on WhatsApp or email with your business name, which book you need (Workshop — the dealer register is part of it — or Retail & Vape), and whether you want monthly or yearly. Takes a minute.
- We send you a quote and the banking details. You will get the exact amount, our bank details and a payment reference that is yours alone. Check the numbers — nothing is charged until you send the money yourself, from your own bank.
- You pay by EFT. From your own banking app. No card details are typed anywhere, and nobody stores them.
- We build your copy the moment the funds reflect. Usually same working day; always within one working day of the money arriving.

- Dot Business Systems, a sole proprietorship owned and run by Darius du Plessis, Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
- Where we are
- Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape, South Africa. We work from a private address and do not publish it, so we do not take walk-ins — but we come to your premises for on-site setups in Gqeberha and the Bay.

- The full price
- R750 per month, or R7,500 for twelve months — two months free. No activation fee, no setup fee, no card percentage. These are the final amounts. No VAT is added — Dot Business Systems is not a registered VAT vendor, so there is no VAT on this sale and none is charged to you.
- How you pay
- EFT from your own bank, to our account, using the reference we give you. We do not accept or store card details.
- When you get it
- Your private install link is sent by email and WhatsApp within one working day of the payment reflecting in our account. There is nothing physical to deliver.
- What happens to your data
- Your business records are created and stored on your own device. They are not sent to us and we cannot read them. We hold only what you give us to invoice and support you: your name, business name, phone and email.
- Security
- Your app is served over HTTPS. Your records sit in your device's own storage, behind your staff PINs, and never travel to a server of ours. The only copies that exist elsewhere are the backup files you choose to make and keep.
- How long you are tied in
- Nothing. There is no contract period. The monthly runs month to month. Stop any time by telling us before your next payment date — no notice period, no cancellation fee.
- If you cancel
- Your app keeps working on your device to the end of the month you have paid for, and your records stay yours. Export them whenever you like, before or after.
- If something is wrong
- Tell us first: 079 677 3392 or info@dotreceive.co.za. We answer every complaint ourselves. If we cannot sort it out between us, you are entitled to take it to the National Consumer Commission. Nothing on this page takes away any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
Refunds, plainly
Try it before you pay anything. The live demo at dotreceive.co.za/demo is the real software with sample data in it. Ring up a sale, open a job card, run a cash-up. Nothing is hidden from it and nothing is asked of you. We would much rather you found out it is wrong for you before any money moves.
If your build is faulty, or is not what this page describes, tell us and we will fix it or refund you in full — that is your right and we are not going to argue about it.
Because your copy is built for you and delivered immediately, we do not offer change-of-mind refunds once your link has been sent and opened. That is why the demo exists, and why you should use it first.
The seven-day cooling-off rule
South African law gives you seven days to cancel some things bought online. It does not apply to software once you have opened it — and when you place your order you will be asked to confirm, in writing, that you want it delivered straight away and that you understand this ends that right. If you would rather keep the seven days, say so and we will hold your build until the week is up. Just ask. We will not talk you out of it.
Questions people actually ask
What if my tablet is stolen or breaks?
This is the right question, and here is the honest answer. Your records live on your device, which is the point — nobody else holds them. The other side of that is that the only copy that survives a lost tablet is the one you took off it. So Dot Book asks you for one, tells you in plain language how many days it has been, and gets a copy off the device in one tap — to your own WhatsApp, email or cloud folder, never through us. Restoring onto a new tablet takes about five minutes, and the app tells you which device each backup came from and when, so you know you are restoring the newest one.
Do I need internet?
To download it once, yes. After that, no. It runs with the wifi off and the data off. You need a connection again only when you want to send someone a receipt or take a backup off the device.
Can I get you to come and set it up later?
Yes. R4,500, any time, and it is the same R750 a month either way. Right now we come to premises in Gqeberha and the Bay. We are working on people in other areas — ask, because that changes.
What device do I need?
Any reasonably modern Android tablet, iPad, laptop or desktop with a current browser. Most people use a cheap Android tablet on the counter. If you are not sure what you have, send us a photo of it and we will tell you honestly.
Why EFT and not a card?
Because a card costs us about 3% of every payment, and we would have to put that back into your price. An EFT costs neither of us anything. You also never type card details into anything of ours, which is one less thing for either of us to worry about.
